Meet Your Instructor: Michelle Lussier
Lead Edu is pleased to partner with Michelle Lussier, the owner and operator of Evergreen Environmental, a full-service lead consulting and training company. She brings over 14 years of experience with EPA and State of Vermont lead paint regulations and works closely with homeowners, contractors, childcare providers, and schools to ensure safety and compliance with all lead-based paint requirements.
The Vermont Lead Poisoning Prevention Law requires owners of residential rental buildings and childcare facilities built before 1978 to do Inspection, Repair and Cleaning (IRC) Practices to help prevent lead poisoning in children. These are inexpensive maintenance activities, which include an annual inspection for deteriorated paint. IRC practices must be performed by a person who is IRC certified. It is recommended that all rental property and childcare owners or managers become licensed or certified. This training is also required, along with the 8-hr RRPM training, to become a Vermont licensed RRPM Supervisor.
This 3-hour class training will cover:
- Overview of lead-based paint
- Interior and exterior visual inspections and reporting
- Minor repair work (< 1sq. ft) and interim controls
- What RRPM work looks like
- Annual cleaning requirements
- Notification and disclosure requirements
- IRC requirements and real estate transactions
